Bandung – Angklung art lovers not only come in the country. Proven with over 1,000 members carrying Angklung Web Institute (AWI), who came from various countries.
Budi Supardiman, chairman of AWI explained, AWI was founded in 2003 in a web form that is angklung-web-institute. The establishment of this site motivated the desire to develop angklung.
“Our over 1,000 members from various countries. For example, the Indonesian Angklung group in a country, even there is also a group whose members are citizens of Germany angklung all, “said Budi after the concert angklung ‘Crossing Borders’ in Sartika Hall on Friday (11/06/2009) night.
But not only engaged in the preservation of art, through this site Budi said AWI wants to create a business. There are three stages of the content of articles about Angklung musical scores and sheet music-then there is communication with members and the three e-commerce that culminate in the business world.
Businesses in this case can be fixed on angklung course, the offer to play angklung, until booking angklung. “Our coach even called upon to train angklung in Singapore,” said Budi.
Members of AWI in Bandung itself is not fixed. According to Budi, anyone is allowed if you want to learn angklung at AWI, even non-binding and free. “They can come at any time, if not at home please just come out,” said Budi.
But at the AWI was the only group that accommodate members from different walks of life. Not necessarily limited to campus or institution. In one group’s AWI Angklung Orcesthra for example, the smallest primary school age and the oldest age of the 60′s.
AWI Angklung Orchestra own friends, according to Team Angklung Relations Manager, Roswita Amelinda, initiated in February 2009 and then by the number of initial members is only 50. But then grow to 150 people.
Roswita also recognizes the freedom of AWI membership into one of the obstacles, but AWI remained consistent with the rolling strategy that could make members survive. Among others by building a family atmosphere and giving spirit to be given a chance to perform.
